Old truck sold !

WOW.....That was FAST ! Got a message on my ans. machine.
Dealer called seems I left some cinch straps and gloves in my 01.
He asked if I wanted them..........YUP

He asked if I would talk to the guy who wants to buy it..........
SURE !!!!!!
I will be honest with the guy....It was a great truck (and plowed
HARD too). I will tell him if hes smart to get a GMPP extended
warranty....Just in case !

Like I said .... a late model 3/4 4x4 x-cab gathers no moss
and sells quick for top $$$$ in my area!..........geo

Good luck with the new truck .The interior must be real nice GM always did a good job in that.I can't say that I care for the new front end design on the chevies,I was talking to someone just the other day about how it does not wrap around like the old ones which gives it that (something is missing look) but over all that is just the apperance the rest or internal is good.

BILL....Still trying to figure out how to get the pics to post
here ! I got a site over at Cardomain.com and it posts there
fine. Working on it tho.!

Been scanning all my old Caddies and truck pics and posting
them there,

I finally got my GM underseat storage bin yesterday. Nice......
Got it for $200 bucks from a guy the PUTC site.

When ya gonna spring for that CTS V ?
$45,500 GM Employee deal price. $52,xxx sticker !

Wish that dealer would of let me have theirs for a day or so ! ...................geo

BTW: My momma is ready to retire her 98 Deville....45k miles!
A 'Lade is nice but toooo big for her. Maybe a V-8 SRX ?:burnout
We will see what she picks !

CTS-V

There is some serious talk of bumping the horsepower of the new Vette and CTS-V to 500 ! Why buy the 400 HP version :)

George,

BMP (Bitmap) is the standard file format used in Microsoft Windows. Bitmap files can contain either 2 color, black and white, or 16, 256, or 16.7 mill. colors. Most bitmap images are NOT compressed

The format which you need is the jpg or JPEG format. A jpg format compresses the file by selectively reducing the detail contained in the image.

Thats a great looking truck .. I 'm thinking about buying a 2004 Silverado also . (Same color too or Pewter.) I rented one for a week and I fell in love with it.
Best of luck with it.
:burnout

Congrats on the new ride
Hopefully you wont be plauged by fuel guage isues like mine is. GM may have to buy it back under CT lemon law. 3 strikes at the issue and they are out. Has been back 3x and still no worky. Have an 11 am call with GM customer support on Thursday.

DINO........Fuel guage problems with your new rig ?

BUMMER.........Sure the body installers didn't mess up a
wire or 2 putting on your contractor body ? Sometimes
those tech guys overlook the obvious...................

Before I signed on the dotted line for this one. I went
to the dealer for 3 mornings in a row to cold start this
mother to check for cold start knock!...............

No problems found..........Hopefully none will come either !

Can't wait for snow!.................geo

Give todays fuel prices and their likely future path, dealers are very motivated to move some big iron. As a side note, I always get extended 5 or 6 yr warranties on my replacement rigs and run then a while. Besides, it takes a few years to get one tweaked properly anyway so I do not like changing trucks much and if is properly choosen and equiped for the job for the money they cost they should last a lot longer than 3 years! I had one old truck last more than 20 years with no chassis or drivetrain failures! It was fully servicable when it was replaced and it was not a "beater" either as it still looks pretty good and is straight with no dents.

Snow...........I don't know.......I like to trade my trucks every 3
years. Plowing beats the snot outta them ! I am not one to
spin a wrench anymore.........

Its hard enough to keep my old GTO or Triumph at the ready for summer fun much less messing around with a broken plow rig at 4am in the blizzard !!!!!! Especially now a days mr. dealer
gets $75 bucks an hour to fix them...ahem.....THROW parts at
them sometimes....................
I LOVE that warranty !

Besides I get that killer GM employee discount and such along
with awesome trade in $$$$. So the payments stay at $250
or less for 3 yrs. while the warranty is there.
So all I have to do is wash it and keep the oil changed ..........

I buy them and lease them to my business corp. so its all a TAX
write-off (aka: tax dodge) anyway. Costs me nothing !!!!!!!

Gotta keep those GM factories running......So those folks can
spend their $$$ here where WE all live !
And keep plowing those shopping centers and driveways so
WE can make some $$$ too...............

Those folks in mexico and china sure don't need OUR services ! .....................geo

I do not know. Properly designed and used you can get many season out of one I do and I have never had a major mechical failure either. You beating your truck badly to need replacement in 3 years and if that is the case I feel sorry for next owner of it. As far a write off, I know all about that but there are other writeoffs too that will give you more money in your pocket long term than a new truck every 3 years. I figure on 10 to 15 years myself out of a truck (my 2000 K3500 only has 26,000 miles) and I even pull all the plow pins and pivots to lube them every year and store them inside too. I also check all mounting and plow bolts at the start (and in the middle too on busy years) of every season too. I have been using Fisher equipment for 10 years now and my oldest one is still fully serviceable and do not fully look its age. Knock on wood but I have not had any down time to equipment failure yet. Good PM will avoid 99% of that.

Snow.......its more WANTING than needing a new truck for
me.............LOL.............

I spent tooooo many years riding beaters when I was poor.

I have owned my GTO since 1974....the Bonne since 83.

I hear ya about a rig lasting more than 3 years tho.!
But if the payments are gonna stay the same for a new
truck instead of a 4 plus year old one and I don't have
to worry about a $2500 transmission job outta warranty.......

Thats why anybody should RUN away from a ex-plow rig
and buy a virgin one !

Usually the prospective buyer contacts me before they purchase
my used rig from the dealer. I welcome the call.
I am honest with them and strongly suggest they purchase a extended warranty !
But my old one is always under 30k miles, loaded, black and beautiful......so the dealer "rolls" them in less than a week.........

My last Western plow rig lasted me 10 hard winters and 3
new trucks. My bud in bought it from me and is still running it.
My new Ultra has 3- 200 plus inch. winters on it already !
