I'm thinking of getting a tailgate spreader and have been reading some of these threads. I could use some help getting to understand the absolute basics of these spreaders. What are the most important factors in considering such a spreader? Also, what is typically included in the price of the spreader? I was looking at a link in one of these threads and it had a spreader (Trynex 1075) then all these options that greatly increased the price. Options included top screen, variable speed controller, deflector kit, vibrator kit, etc.
I am looking to put it on a 2003 F250 pickup and may get another for a 2004 F550 mason dump. I do like the swingaway idea a lot. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Please remember to speak in "baby talk"!
