Ok,

So as everybody knows, We are in the process of taking my Meyer Plow of my OLD 90 Chevy P/U and stuck it on the Avalanche, Which BTW is complete. I have a bunch of pictures to post to show :D

But the only problem is, the plow is the old EZ Classic Style with the old TRUCK LITE Lights, (pic attached)

I probably need to buy some new lights and just get rid of these old ones, but my question was, does anybody of a way to hook these style of lights up to my 05 Avalanche?

The way its hooked up on my old truck is its just tapped right into the wiring harness, But from what I've heard, is that if I tap into my Avalanche's Wiring Harness, I'm going to end up blowing the whole system?

Is there an adapter or anything that can be used or do i just need to buy new headlights?

you need a set of modules and correct pigtails. Youll also need to change the pig tails coming out of the lights themselves to the night saber style. Basically you need a complete wiring harness for the lights and new heas light pig tail to make it all work. i might have one if your interested will have to look tomorrow.

Yes, Please let me know! I'm only up in Mansfield, So not to far away from ya.

If it would keep me from spending about $400.00 plus bucks on a set of new ones, that would be awesome!

Ill have to see what i got i think i have everything you might need. ill look and let you know.

looks like i have everything you need except pig tail to convert from nite sabers to truck lights. you will need to find an old broken set of night sabers

hmmm. I'll have to look around to see if I can find anything!

Would this work if I find the actual right and left night saber lights like on eBay or something?

Basically, you have the modules and the harness I need, i just need to either find the plug or the actual lights?

So I've got everything installed, Thanks to Jerre again!

But I've got one single small problem. As you know, I took my old Truck lights and put them on the newer style Chevy truck. I got the modules and the correct adapters, but when the headlights are turned on, the plow turn signals are light up VERY bright, but when the lights are off there fine.

Basically, the turn signals when the plow lights or truck head lights are turned on will not work. The turns just stay lite up bright.

However, When the headlights are turned off (such as during the day) the turn signals work fine? :huh

The photo attached, is of the parking lights turned on only

Bit confused? If anybody could shed some light, It be much appreciated! Thanks.

The plow headlights and turn signals need to have seperate grounds. Sounds like the truck headlights are positive ground lights. Some trucks use grounding to turn on the headlights, and some use power to turn on the headlights that are already grounded. Make sense? J can explain better.

Dang and I even sent him a wiring diagram..............

Yep you need to make sure that the WHITE for the headlight is wired to the BLUE on the harness that I sent you and that the WHITE on the turn / run light is wired to the BLACK on the harness that I sent you.

The positive common should be your issue. Separating the commons is very important.

Lol. Thank you for the wiring diagram, I did use it. I will double check that I have those wires correct. If I do have those wires correct, is there something else it could be? I'm almost 99.99% positive I have those wires hooked up correctly as I did use the diagram you sent me! :grinz

OK, So just tap the ground into the light socket wiring like I did for the park and turn.

OK. Thanks. I'll check out the wiring in the head light first, then if that's correct I'll change my ground for the module pack themselves and let you know!

I appreciate the help! Not sure what I'd do without you guys

Well, I double checked the wires in the headlight. (there good) and I changed my grounds to the actual headlight turn signal ground and still no luck. There still lite up bright. Any other suggestions?

Also I did want to add this information for you to.

I went to my local Meyer dealer before I even started the install of these lights. Which they told it could be done no problem.

They told me I need head light adapters 07104. Now those are the ones I bought. I was searching the web and it was saying I need the 07400 adapters with the DRL module?

Now I have the 07104 adapters and my headlights work perfectly fine (lows, highs) when i switch over to them.

Now I don't know if that has anything to do with this or not, but I thought I'd just add that in there for you too.

Yes, This plow setup was bought brand new in 95 and has been as reliable as you could imagine.

I'm gonna run out there and try that out and see if it works! :D
