Karl, what wire colors are you dealing with and what are the coils labled. Have several manuals here but don't have one that matches your pump. They all usually run the same wiring though.
I will need to check & see what colors the wires are, the pump & switch are at work can't get into building until Monday. I will check and get back to you then.
Put 4 wires on pump yellow & red on one side , black & brown on the other side, black wires are nearest to the pump on both side. Plow worked a few time rt. to left & up & down, now all is does is make a clicking noise, what could be the problem? Also getting sparks at lift & hydraulic line is getting warm. I have pump mounted to frame behind plow because no room under hood diesel tk.
You NEED a ground wire that runs from the Block for the pump to the negative terminal of the battery. The unit is looking for a good ground that's why the hydro lines are getting hot. Hope you didn't melt the filter in the reservoir. and you may have screwed the solenoid and or motor.
What do mean when you say block ? Should I put ground wire to motor where the ground attaches to solenoid. I have had not very little help where I live in southwestern part of the state. The tk. I have had a mount for a Fiher Plow, but I have a Meyers Plow that I fit the light bar & mount for the plow to my tk. Just need to get wires etc. right to use plow.
I can take some pictures & send them to your email. This may help.
The pump that I have is a Northern Pump Haldex No. 1073 the only place I can see to put a ground from pump to neg. battery post is where the solenoid has the ground connected. I had a ground connected there & the short cable that goes from motor to solenoid got rather warm. I can take a few pictures and send them to you. The tk. has a 3 port module a wire set up for a fisher plow, not sure if that would have thing to do with problem.
