I was going to one of my accounts and happen to come across this. He said he was going to fast and just slid off. I was impressed that he actually admitted that.

This is the 4th truck that i have seen in the same ditch, but first plow truck.

Sorry about the crappy video and pics, i left the camera in the truck when i walked down to talk to him.

I have a tough time finding humor in someone else's misfortune. Karma is a bitch.
Add me to this list... I could see how it can happen easily. All things considered Im happy the driverdidnt get hurt more, luckily it didnt go all the way over...also happy the town wont need a new truck, just a good cleaning of the drivers seat, and and a going over...and maybe a few bucks, but nothing next to replacing a totalled truck.

I've gone in lesser ditches than that and needed help out - I can't drive any better than him I guess. I think I posted my last misfortune in April - we sweat a bit to get out. It happens.

You're right John - happens to the best of us.

Do unto others...

I've seen a few IDOT trucks go into the ditch or drive off a road before. **** happens, look how many people can't drive their car to work without going into the ditch. I'm glad there are so many proffessional plowers out there that feel the need to video tape someone elses misfortune. Karma is a bitch.

Hey i've been there before :( Most of us who do this for a while will wind up like that at some point. If you cant sit back and laugh at it, then it only gets worse. He was laughing at it. He said, hey at least i get to sit around and do nothing for a few hours. But i am betting he got a good ass chewing at the end of the day.

I just thought it was different, i have never seen a modot truck off the road before, anywhere. So i thought it was noteworthy.

Man you guys are harsh on me LOL

It's all in your delivery bud. I'll agree the pics are a point of interest, but the LOL in your thread title makes it appear you're laughing at the guy. I don't dare make fun of anyone who has made a mistake, it could have just as easily been me. I've been in that same spot 3 times, if you've been in the truck for hours on end and aren't as sharp as you'd like to be, it only takes a second for something unexpected to happen.

There's a spot on my run like that, a ditch that is both on a curve and the road is pitched toward the ditch as well. One morning I was coming down that stretch after being out all night and wasn't thinking about where I was and got sucked in. Fortunately I was able to drive out of it, but it could have been worse.

It's all good

True, i guess i was only laughing because the driver was laughing. Oh well. Hell i laughed at myself when i got stuck in a ditch, after of course i cursed everything i could.
