Okay so I'll just skip the details and say blew a tranny in the 97 and left it to the side till done plowing storm, now theres a yard and a half of salt in it that has,,,, well how shall we say-Solidified !!! Turned whole, become one,,,,,
In other words I have a 1.5 yard rock in my salter-any ideas??????

get a small spot started with a pick axe ( BE CAREFUL) Then take a mantis tiller and go to town on it. Worked for me in the past.

Let the tranny shop blow there hosit out changing the trans in the mean time the shop will turn it back to loose salt again.

pull it in your shop crank up the heat and wait. I use to have green help that would throw the rock hard bags of salt away:rolleyes: once they understood that a night in heat bought them back to life they were used around the shop.

torpedo heat, pull truck into car wash bay and shut the door if possible and no other spot/way to warm it up...i do this during big storms for minor fixes on my rigs since they use radiant floor heat, i can have all the snow/ice melted off the truck/s in an hours time if need be, and beats working out in the cold LOL!

pick ax

hot water

been there with a full load of sand/salt mix in my learning curve so i dont envy you a bit.

Well I got some idea's today-first is tranny may not be shot, found my trail all over the parking lot plowing today so I think I have a leak and lost all the fluid, we'll see if adding fluid takes care of it for now.
As for the salt I'm going to get the truck in my shop and heat it up and see what happens and then maybe a good supply of hot water=LOL
Okay back out to plow:D

Couple gallons windshield washer fluid usually works pretty good for me with no warm shop in sight.

This is a flawed plan. Each endeavor has its challenges. Down there, you have all the same issues, only you are doing it in the scorching heat and humidity, bug bit, sunburned, and every bit as annoyed, with no support network.

Something about the grass being greener........

Or

Be careful what you wish for........

Or

It is a mighty thin coin that doesn't have two sides........

Go to bed, go directly to bed. Do not pass Go, Do not collect $200.
