I used to run a crewcab long bed 96/F350 up to 2008 after she munched her second automatic transmission.
Was using a BOSS 8' Power V
Then switched to Chevy crewcab long bed 2008/2500HD with AT and same model BOSS plow. The 08 chevy had the transmission temp option so I could monitor tranny temp during ops
, The highest Id get was mid 190's 196/197 were Id let it cool.
Then in 2020 I replaced the chevy 2500HD with same model BOSS 8' V plow mounted on a Ford std cab long bed 'AT' 2020/F350 SuperDuty that comes with the transmission temp function like the Chevy did, this transmission seems to run warmer than the chevy.
This one I get buggy when the temps rise above 200°F and highest its got was 219°F with a cool down as I got paranoid.
What is the warmest a transmission 'should' run during plowing?
What is the redline temp for a F350?
Is there an accurate way to check my trucks temp gauge for accuracy?
Itd be a sad day to find out my truck is reading 5° cooler that its really operating at.
