Gm's factory locking differentials are awesome. Only problem is the model they show in the video ,the 1500 (exc the 1500 w 6.0) uses the 8.5 " diff, when abused plowing, ive seen the carriers break right in half on them, but we are talking heavy abuse 8-10 yrs of being overloaded like a 3/4 ton truck and beat ,getting stuck, spinning, and plowing. The 1500 w 6.0 has the 9.5 " 14 bolt, and a much stronger carrier assy.

if you really want to laugh at the comparison between the american made trucks and the tundra ,check out the frame flex videos.

The last one just confirms the findings in the proving grounds tests.I always keep an open mind with any test that is done by a biased party, but it is hard to dispute these findings when the 3rd video by an independent owner backs the others up so well. The shame is the toyota has a strong powertrain, but not much else it seems.

Or just read their responces to any post that contains links to
those videos..................

They will tell ya (with a straight face) that the new blundra will
OUT tow, plow and haul ANY GM, Ford or Dodge truck made!

The tundra obviously isn't like the other toyotas with a full locking diff. The eaton gov loc isn't in every chevy either though and like they mentioned, they have a tendancy to split in half even when lightly used.

The 07 blundras "limited slip" is actually a traction control kinda set up
that used brake action to control which wheel actually has power.
But this system is used in the 5.7 engine models only.

The 4.7s use the good old fashoned limited slip like GM and others have.

That video shows how piss poor that set up is with the 5.7.

The GM unit ain't too bad. I have had several G-80 equipped rigs and
towed, plowed and beat on too and never had any issues !
