we have a old western plow at work.....yesterday while i was woking on it i found that on the top angle plate (rectangular shaped) their is a round hole down by the bottom screw...... it has cotton in it.... and fluid leaks from it.....i think it needs a rubber plug in it..........does anyone have one like this?????

Are you talking about an older cable operated Pump unit?

If so I'm assumimg you are and are talking about the rectangle cover for the lift control cable.

In side of this cover there is a 1/4 dia steel plug (not threaded )that plugs drilled passage from the factory ,this if I remember
correct is near the front, and there is also a 1/8 pipe plug to the rear.


The small plug sometimes blows out completely filling the cover area,and comming out every where.

it is cable controled .....1985 from what i was told.....i'll take the plate off when i get a chance and check it out.......wasnt sure if it was built with that hole or what.....thanks....
