That flasher is commonly used to alternate headlights, it's one of the earliest versions that became available. I don't know anything about it firsthand but it's been around for a long time.

You should be aware that in NY, use of headlights as warning devices in any manner is prohibited by law.

Didn't plan on the headlights....I was wondering if it was possible to have my signals and my running lights on my cab flash like strobes.

I'm not sure what you mean by "flash like strobes". Strobes are the only thing that flash like strobes, LEDs are pretty close, but incandescent lights will never appear as strobes. Also, it sounds like you plan to flash your daytime running lights, again, in NY this would be illegal since they are white lights. You must change the bulbs to amber if you plan to do this.

Those things are junk. They would flash way to slow. You also don't want to be hacking that into your new truck, and possibly damaging the electrical system.

Buy a decent beacon,LED,or strobe system if you want some warning lights.

Am I missing something here? Sounds like what he’s trying to do is wire parking lights to flash on and off with that switch/box isn’t that what the 4 way flasher switch pretty much already is for?
Yeah what Bud said. But the 4 way flasher doesn't get the "strobe" I'm after.

I plan on getting a nice min bar.
I didn't know how fast the auxilary flasher would flash.
And about the "strobe system" what's involved? More lights installed? If so has anyone put the lights in the stock location? By that I mean are they just led bulds that I could mount inside of the stock parking or signal light location.
I'm trying to stay away from adding a bunch of lights to my truck, that stick out and look like they don't belong.

Thanks for all the info I'm getting ......it's greatly appreciated :rocker

if you want just good warning than IMO a mini halogen rotator is plenty adequate. Now if you want your truck to light up like a christmas tree then there are many ways to go about that and still keep things fairly hidden butit mostly comes down to the look you are looking for. If you want your cab clearance lights to blink on and of alternating or go center outside or something like that then yes its possible. Check out galls or awdirect or thr like.....they have lotsa options.

I suppose tell us what you want to flash and how and we can tell you how to do it.....but your moving from the doing it to get the job done to doing it for looks category.

that won;t give you a strobe afect iot will give you a foiur way flasher affect as all that is in side it is power and a flasher light what plugs into your fuse box. ive built them for a couple buck worth of parts.

Get some hide away strobes if you want secluded. and no changing your marker bulbs to led won;t work you need seperate bulbs and controls.

Ok here we go......I want my signal and my cab lights to flash like strobes how do I go about it? I wouldn't mind putting hidden strobes into the signal housing but what about the cab lights?

Thanks again for all the input.

Also does anyone have any video of a set-up like this?

Like everyone else is saying, save your money. If thats what you are looking to do with it, you might as well just turn your 4-ways on. Invest in a hide-a-way strobe system.
www.strobesnmore.com has some good prices and good service.

As for making the cab marker lights flash, i'd invest in a minilightbar. I doubt strobe heads will fit in the marker lights.
