Thumbs up

Jt5019...

Nice cut and paste work for the NWS zone forecast, Looking at the latest forecast data this morning along with radar and surface observations I am not very impressed what I see.

Mesoscale temperatures around the region show 32 degree temperature line runnig from the Northern Bronx NYC - to Cedar Grove (Essex County) to Bridgewater (Somerset County) even 50 to 75 miles back the front the depth of cold air not that impressive.

Going to hold on what I have first posted since I don't like to flip flop. New data I saw this morning has a lot precip for today then it did last night for Northern NJ.

Have nice day everyone this one at least looks ike a non event for most of us.

Mike 97... East Hanover a nice town, I am always amazed in the winter what I alittle elevation can from Orange to East Hanover
I have a brother that lives in Hanover twp off of Whippany
Road.

I have a small weather consulting firm here doing this for years
and have a few road departments local and county I forecast for
I don't think it's going to be a big deal this season to give everyone here the bottom line. I think most everyone here would like that.

Take Care and have a great day and happy holidays !!

We had an inch here in Sussex County.... They actually plowed the roads before they salted. I guess they are anxious!

Town sander just came around here won't be much or a money maker unless you sand .

we went through a crapload of sand/salt mix and ice melt today. what a nightmare. loaded all the sanders at 2 am and was finished sanding by 8 am. had to sand some places twice, the freezing rain was coming down hard enough to glaze back over walks we already ice melted. we went through almost two pallets of ice melt

What a crappy morning. We went through alot of straight salt and then all of what that started melting froze back over, had to go redo everything with sand/salt mix or a heavy salt application to every account, used over a pallet of ice melt, man it was a bad storm, more complaints today then we got all of last year combined. Oh well hopefully we get a bunch of nice 2"-4" storms to make up for this terrible one.

Hopefully the temps do rise a bit overnight.........

Just shot the ground temps in West Haven and here in Meriden on my way home........

36.5 in West Haven
34.5 here in Meriden

saw some flakes mixed in the air................

I thought it was supposed to get warmer?

Hopefully the temps stay at this point............don't need any morning headaches.........

I got those complaints to. People don't understand that ice like we had is harder to deal with then a big snowfall. They just need to slow down and take it easy. I guess because there was not a big accumulation they thought it was not a big deal.

This was not a moneymaking storm.
