Looking forward to this winter! Not hoping for any 40" blockbusters again this year but a consistent winter of decent sized storms would be nice.

I retired one of the trucks earlier this summer and picked up another and we are in the process of upfitting it accordingly. I am on the hunt for a skidsteer or compact tractor as well so there will be plenty of new toys to test out when mother nature decides to strike

We had an inch yesterday, looks like a little more tonight. New 2500 got the Boss 9 2 on it Friday, 5500 needs the tailgate sander mounted and the studded snows put on, then it will be ready.

Looking promising, seems like the cold is settling in early, wasps nests are high and I'm squirreling away wood like crazy, which usually means were in or a cocker.

Got my first salt run in this morning. Weather guessers had us at 20% chance of flurries last night. Woke up to light snow at 6am. Ended up with almost an inch intown. No big deal except my dam gmc 4500 wouldn't start this morning so I ended up riding in the back of the truck slinging the salt by hand. Feels like I got sucker punched this morning by Murphy.

What's up with the 4500? Wanna buy a 5500? Did a little sanding the other day as well, scraped the mtn and threw down some sand. Elect motor on the tailgate sander on the 5500 died, had to put my little 2 yd ss downeaster in the 5500 to sand.

Syracuse NY area has had only a few inches so far this season. Still can see the grass in most areas! Philly sure got blasted yesterday! Haven't seen any posts/reports from the Philly guys either!
Alex Bay/Watertown NY area has several inches piled up.
The ski areas south of Syracuse have plenty of snow and are open already!

Has everbody abandoned this forum ??????????

Did a partial run today, first time this year. Sounds like a good one for sat/sun.

As for LTS, it is what we make it. I'm trying to spend more time here when I can, hope everyone else can as well.

We were supposed to get 3 to 6. Ended up with 9 to 12 right along the coast.

not enough

We were also supposed to get 3-6", but we were near the edge of the good stuff. When it moved a trifle farther out to sea, we lost that edge. We got 1 1/2inches from the first part of the storm, and nothing from the last wind up killer part that grazed the coast and headed to the Maritimes.

I need two inches to plow, and did not get it. On the bright side we got a full foot plus on the 15th. This apparently was difficult for the non professionals, their poor performance and the forecast for this last non-producer inland caused a "flurry" of phone calls with a good chance to pick up 6 or 7 minor accounts. Unfortunately, I have to charge more than the boys who plow for beer money without commercial plow insurance, so my prices may be too high. Wish we'd gotten clobbered again.

AT Greene, on the 15th one of my customers recommended me to someone, who has a daughter down your way. I gave them your name, hope they were a good contact.

The next storm seems to be borderline, GFS thinks rain, Euro thinks 6 inches of snow, down from 9 inches a few days ago. I'm going with the Euro!!

Major ice storm issues in the Alexandria Bay/Watertown NY area
(north of Syracuse) of northern NY. Travel and storm warnings galore!
I have INCHES of solid ice covering my cars/ground/trees this am.
Luckily my power is on as other areas around me have been powerless
since 2 am last nite. Oh well my generator is hooked up and ready to
rock! i survived the last 2 whopper NNY ice storms in 96 and 98 !

Meanwhile Oswego/Syracuse its raining on and off and all the snow
is about gone and its 50+ dregrees the yesterday and today!

My parents sure regret they didn't head to Fl. last month because they
decided to stay in NY for x-mas!!!!

Slow start

It has been very uneventful here in NE Ohio. 4 plow events and maybe a dozen salt runs. Hopefully the Lake Effect Snow Machine kicks in soon for us!

It's been busy. Sunday will be our 4th? storm, plus the ice storm. I spread over 24 yards of sand the two days before Christmas. Augers on my swensen tailgate sander quit, both are broken. Slid my 8' downeaster into the 5500 to get me by, bought a 7' Fisher Polycaster for my new truck. We'll see how it goes. Yesterdays 3-4" was easy pushing except for the ice that was left from the ice storm. 5500 got stuck twice, had to call in a wrecker both times. Not fun.
