1955 FWD SNOGO blower truck

Hi guys , I'm new to this forum and I am hoping to find some info on this truck I just purchased. Have spent the last 3 weeks looking for anything on this truck in the way of manuals or anything for that matter and have come up with nada--zip--zilch. I have a 1955 Motors truck manual and it has a total of 2 pages on this--not much help. Bought this as a backup to my road patrol because you can only push the snow so far before you still run out of room, besides its a pretty cool old truck to play with.

Well got it home with only a few problems. The fuel pump took a dump about 5 miles from the start but lucky me a friend came to the rescue and we finished the first leg of the trip.
Started the second leg with no problems till the first hill and it overheated. Made it over the hill and ran out of gas on the downhill side, was only going 70 miles and it used 25 gal. of fuel to go the first 32. Fueled it up and made the last leg without a problem, not bad for a rig that hasn't ran in 7 yrs.
Steering that old dog was interesting to say the least, the rear steer is worn a bit so the rear end wandered around, it was locked but still gave me a thrill now and then on the narrow 2 lane.
Oh yeah there apparently is a hornets nest and a large ass bumble bee nest somewhere in the heater system because they were crawling out of the defroster hole as I drove--got real interesting with that and the steering, not allergic thank god.

Nice find! That fuel mileage sure will hurt the wallet! What engine is in the blower portion?

cummins 360 I think, not sure , still tinkering with the old gas truck drive engine. Decided I needed to rewire it to 12v negative because of all the corrosion and there was a lot of the old wiring missing , cut, altered and green. Going to put on a 1 wire alternator for simplicity and reliability , once I get the truck a little more reliable I will start on the diesel.
