Western Cable Plow

What is a western cable are they any good is it worth looking into or just stick with the new stuff.

I have 2 of them. Only issue i have had was a broken cable, knock on wood.
They can be bought pretty cheap.

Just my $.02.

that is what i run, and dont see me changing anytime soon. They are a reliable set-up, however a cable adjustment is in order once in awhile. Also be careful with the set screws for the cables, sometimes they can strip and can be a pain to re-tap.

Like said probley the most trouble free western to own over the years i have had 6 the 85 has one now and the pump works good its the blade that has seen better days.

Worth looking into. I have one that is now 18 years old and have had no magor problems. A few hoses and noids is it.

Thanks for the help. i was talking to a friend of mine and he said i would be stupid not to buy this unit. the guy only wants $750 for it and i has been used very little. again thanks for the help looking at it this afternoon.

Plow needs paint job and the a frame needs a peace of angale iorn added and its ready for the snow $700 and i pick it up friday.

I used an 1987 8' pro model up till last year.Keep silicone sealer on the cable ends of the pump and never sieze on the set screws and heavy guage wire on the motor and you should have no problems.Order a service manual from CPW and a parts list also.
